Covenant is the third studio album by American death metal band Morbid Angel, released on June 22, 1993 by Earache Records in Europe and Giant Records in North America. The album was produced by Morbid Angel and Flemming Rasmussen, who had previously worked with Metallica on their albums Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and …And Justice for All.
Covenant was a critical and commercial success, reaching number 118 on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1994. The album’s singles, “Rapture” and “God of Emptiness”, were also successful, and the latter music video was featured on Beavis and Butt-head.
